Want to know how to track companies that sell your data? It’s not always straightforward, but here is one way you can go about revoking your data from companies that don’t need to have it.
When you buy things online, change your last name in the shipping information to show the company you are buying from. For example, if your name is Joe Smith and you are buying a product from Walmart, you would input Joe “Walmart”.
When you get mail from someone you haven’t done business with, check the shipping label. If the shipping label on a magazine from XYZ Company says “Joe Walmart”, you will know right away who sold your data because your shipping label will tell you so.
